Here are some not very good photos... it's a start! Soon I hope to have a fancy digital camera and a great collection of photos on here. So come back soon and check it out!

These are some images of Upper Klamath Lake. It's just too darn big too fit in one frame! Upper Klamath is just one (the BIG one) of dozens of beautiful lakes in the area.

This is a "balanced" photograph, and the following are more of the same photo adjusted using various functions of the same photo editor. I thought it was amusing what sharpening, despeckling etc. did to the original photo.

Okay, play time is over. I thought a couple of those looked like woodblock prints and were mildly entertaining.

Here's another shot of the lake...

In summer and winter, Crater Lake National Park draws locals and visitors to take in the sights.

East of Lake County is the high desert outback of Lake County.

Sights include:

The Western frontier town of Lakeview.

The Fort Rock contains a large number Native American artifacts and the relics of homesteader struggles. The rugged outback area in North Lake County also includes a number of fascinating geologic features. The sights bear testimony to a volcanic legacy and periods of tremendous climactic change as ice sheets melted and areas once covered by lakes are now scrub deserts.

Home on the rage for a number of large cattle ranches, Lake County is as much cowboy country as any locale in Texas or Colorado.

The crater known as Fort Rock marks an area once covered by a vast lake. Caves in the crater contain a legacy of Indian artifacts as well as the bones of creatures long extinct from the region including camels.

It's hard to believe the area was once a vast lake as dry as it is, but the smooth grooves in the crater wall show where the waves once rubmled home.

Crack in the ground is another interesting feature located in North Lake County. Located nearby is the striking feature known as "Hole in the Ground." These are just a couple of the strange geologic features providing a sense of wonder about the areas geologic history.

A brief note about this site: These pages were created to help inform residents and visitors about this special region. I hope everyone will get involved and get out there and ENJOY!!!
